Koehler, Charles William "Bud"
CAPE GIRARDEAU - Funeral service for Charles (Bud) Koehler, 719 William,
will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. The
Rev. Stephen Schneider will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson after 4 p.m. today. An American Legion
honor guard service will be held at 7:30 and a prayer service at 8.
Koehler, 69 years old, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 1990, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Jan. 11, 1921, at Jackson, son of Henry C. and Mary Belle Baugh Koehler. He
and the former Gusta Wedekind were married Jan. 22, 1942.
The Koehlers lived near Jackson until moving to Cape in 1982. He owned Bud's Kirby Co.
since 1964, and prior to that had worked at Fisher Body in St. Louis and Lonestar Cement
here.
Koehler was a lifelong member of Immaculate Church, member of Altenthal-Joerns American
Legion Post at Jackson, and Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Charles W. Koehler of Spring Grove, Pa., Ronald
Koehler of Millersville, Dan Koehler of Glenrock, Pa., Joe Koehler of Coppell, Tex., Rick
Koehler of Jackson, Doug Koehler of Chaffee; a daughter, Judy Kraemer of Jackson; two
brothers, Paul Koehler of Cape, Lawrence Koehler of Jackson; four sisters, Maggie Smith,
Hester Vinyard, Lorene Horrell and Opal Laurentius, all of Jackson; 16 grandchildren, and
four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and two great-grandchildren.
