Kent, Norma Medford (nee Bollinger)
Norma M. Kent, 91, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Sunday, September 21, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.
She was born September 7, 1923 in Sedgewickville, Missouri to Joseph and Maude Seabaugh Bollinger.
She and Charles Ercie Kent were married March 27, 1948 at Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He preceded her in death October 4, 1985.
She was a member of Hobbs Chapel. In her earlier years, she worked at Southeast Hospital in the laundry department. Norma enjoyed babysitting, was a caregiver and was proud of playing basketball in her high school years. She enjoyed being with her family and enjoyed all the simple things in life. Everyone she knew loved her sweet smile.
Survivors include sons, Paul (Delia) Kent of Lewisville, Texas, Charles Kent of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Jane (Ronald) Burton of Tamms, Illinois, Vickie Kent of Cape Girardeau, Lindy (Duane) Benes of Silverhill, Alabama; grandchildren, Scotty Kent, Billy Burton, Jean (Matt) Williams, Erik Benes, Richie (Rebecca) Burton, Margie Burton, Kristin (Jeff) Michel; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Ancel Bollinger and a sister, Audrey Bollinger.
Friends may call 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Stan Hargis officiating.
Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
