BIEHLE, Mo. -- Bernard W. "Bernie" Hotop, 72, of Biehle died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at his home. He was born Sept. 25, 1938, in Perry County, to Julius and Violet Snyder Hotop. He and Bonnie R. Moll were married May 8, 1965. Bernie was a retired carpenter, working for Fixture Construction. He was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church at Biehle, an officer of Amvets and a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus...

A funeral will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2011 for 72-year-old Bernard W. "Bernie" Hotop of Biehle who died Friday, September 2, 2011 at his home.
He was born September 25, 1938 in Perry County the son of Julius and Violet (Snyder) Hotop who both preceded him in death.
He married Bonnie R. Moll on May 8, 1965. She survives.
He is also survived by six sons: Scott (Tammy) Obendorfer of Gloschie, Virginia, Bill Hotop of Biehle, Mike Hotop of Perryville, Mark (Kelly) Hotop of Biehle, Matthew (friend Megan) Hotop of Biehle and Jason (Tina) Hotop of Biehle; two brothers: Thomas Hotop of Perryville and Jim Hotop of Biehle; five sisters: Patricia Meyer of Biehle, Kathy Ruesler of Sedgewickville, Agnes Farrar of Imperial, Tess Miller of Altenburg, and Joan Hotop of Biehle; grandchildren: Summer Hotop, Julia Hotop, Shawn Hotop, Shelby Hotop, Courtney Hotop, Brittany Hotop, Dustin Hotop, Josh Obendorfer and Ethan Obendorfer.
He was a retired carpenter working for Fixture Construction.
He was an army veteran. He was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle; he was an officer for the AmVets and he was also a 4th degree Knight of Columbus.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday, September 5, 2011 and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. A parish service with the Knights of Columbus will be held at 7 p.m. and an AmVets Service will be held at 7:15 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A funeral mass for 72-year-old Bernard W. "Bernie" Hotop of Biehle will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 6 at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle. The Rev. Tony Dattilo will officiate. Burial will be in St. Maurus Church Cemetery with graveside military honors courtesy of the V.F.W.
Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice or St. Maurus Church Hall
