A funeral will be held Tuesday, March 30th, 2010 for 72-year-old Joan E. Hayden of Perryville who died Saturday March 27, 2010 at Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Perryville.
She was born February 20th, 1938 in Perry County, the daughter of the Edward and Stella (Moore) Esselman who both preceded her in death.
She married Harvey H. Hayden on July 27, 1957. He survives in Perryville.
She was the owner and operator of Harvey’s Restaurant.
She is survived by one son and two daughters: Rickie (Patricia) Hayden of Perryville, Tina (Russell) Richardet of Perryville and Patricia "Trish" (Jeff) Becker of St. Louis; two brothers and two sisters: Eugene (Rita) Esselman of Quincy, Illinois, Delores (Hilary) Schumer of Florida, Mary (late Albert) Baker of Florida, Jerry (Wanda) Esselman of St. Louis; eight grandchildren: David, Miranda, Melissa Hayden, Ryan, Justin Richardet, Hunter, Alexis and baby boy Becker.
She was also preceded in death by three sons: David, Harvey Jr. and an infant son.
She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality in Sereno.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Monday, March 29th and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 30th at the Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville. Rosary at 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
A funeral for 72-year-old Joan E. Hayden of Perryville will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 30th. The Rev. Bill Rhinehart will officiate.
Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to charity of choice.
