Frank, Joe David

Joe David Frank, 61, of Jackson died Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Oct. 17, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, to Alvin Martin and Adella Catherine Kirchdoerfer Frank. He and Kay Grantham were married Feb. 8, 1975, in Chaffee, Missouri.
Joe David was a 1971 graduate of Notre Dame High School. He was a plasterer 13 years with Miller Drywall in Scott City. He was a member of the Plasterers Union in Cape Girardeau, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson and Knights of Columbus Council 6405.
He was a member of numerous soccer referee associations, including MSHSAA, USSF and SEMSRA. During the 2011-2012 season, Joe David received a plaque for his 25-year commitment to MSHSAA and was recently selected to referee his fourth Missouri State High School Championship soccer game. He was a former NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA soccer referee. He also served as a soccer referee at the Show Me State Games more than 20 years.
Family was important to Joe David. He coached his children in a number of sports. He loved going to Lake Wappapello, camping, floating, fishing and vacationing in Branson, Missouri, with his kids and grandkids.
Survivors include his mother, Adella Frank of Chaffee; wife, Kay Frank of Jackson; a son, Jason Frank (Natalie Goodwin-Frank) of Freeburg, Illinois; a daughter, Jaymie Castens (Chris) of Collinsville, Illinois; two brothers, Michael Frank (Debbie) of Cape Girardeau and Alvin Frank Jr. (Kim) of Chaffee; two sisters, Mary Ann Hennecke of Cape Girardeau, Barb Beel (Roy) of Bonnots Mill, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kaylynn Castens, Connor Castens and Paisley Frank, and expecting twin granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., with Knights of Columbus rosary immediately following.
A Mass of Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church, with the Revs. William Hennecke and John Harth concelebrating.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be given to the Notre Dame Regional High School soccer program.
