Barks, Ruby (nee Crawford)

Jackson - Mrs. Jacob F. Barks of Jackson, 75 years old, died at 4"30 a.m. today at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She had been a patient there for about a month.

Mrs. Barks, the former Miss Ruby Crawford, was born July 9, 1905 at Ava, Ill., a daughter of Edward and Alice Edwards Crawford. She had formerly resided in Lutesville.

On March 17, 1930 she was married to Mr. Barks. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1980. Mr. and Mrs. Barks resided in St. Louis, for 35 years, moving to Jackson in 1970.

She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson, and a member of the Dorcas Circle. Mrs. Barks was also a member of the Jackson Garden Club.

Survivng are her husband, a son, Harold Barks, Sikeston; and four granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The Rev. O. David Griffin, pastor of New McKendree United Methodist Curch, will officiate and burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery here.
